Theater News & Reviews

"Standout Performance: Stacie Eirich, who holds the richest vocals as Abigail Adams, resulting in a moving performance."

-Theodore P. Mahne, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune: Playmakers in Covington Presents 1776 with a twist: The cast is mostly women. June 26, 2019.

"Adams also misses his wife, Abigail (Stacie Eirich), and the two sing a pair of long-distance duets (taken from actual letters between the two) that are among the show’s best moments."

-Ted Lewis, Nola.com|The Advocate: 1776 declares its independence at Playmakers in Covington with a nearly all-female cast, June 7, 2019.

"Noteworthy: Stacie Eirich, who not only conveys Abigail Adams’ intelligence but also a tender love for her husband John."

-Brian Sands |Ambush Magazine: Trodding the Boards, July 2, 2019.

"There were several elements of this particular production that I very much enjoyed. First was lead actress Stacie Eirich's (Katherine) hilarious rendition of "I Hate Men." Already a hysterical number, Eirich's goofy antics and overly dramatic spouts of anger had me in a fit of giggles."

-Heidi Scheuerman|Broadway World Review; Slidell Little Theatre Presents Kiss Me Kate, May 12, 2014.

Beim Schlafengehen (While Going to Sleep): The Four Last Songs, composed by Richard Strauss

Beim Schlafengehen is the third song in Strauss's song cycle, The Four Last Songs. Written just before his death, these songs are set to poems written by Herman Hesse, Joseph Karl Benedikt & Freiherr von Eichendorff. They are widely recognized among the most beautiful music ever written for the soprano voice. Vocals by Stacie Eirich, piano by Tom Jesty. Recorded in isolation in 2021, following an online masterclass lead by The Choir of the Earth & Ms. Lucy Cox. Authorship by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Beim Schlafengehen", written 1911. While going to sleep Now that the day has made me so tired, my dearest longings shall be accepted kindly by the starry night like a weary child. Hands, cease your activity, head, forget all of your thoughts; all my senses now will sink into slumber. And my soul, unobserved, will float about on untrammeled wings in the enchanted circle of the night, living a thousandfold more deeply. *** *Text & translation is from: https://www.lieder.net/
